# Generation lookup

> Call /generations to retrieve a prior generation record.

**Method**: `client.getGeneration(...)`

import ai.stats.sdk.AIStats;

AIStats client = new AIStats(System.getenv("AI_STATS_API_KEY"));

Object generation = client.getGeneration("G-01ABC123");
System.out.println(String.valueOf(generation));
```

When request details were stored, the returned generation record also includes `replay_supported` and `replay_request` so you can resubmit the captured payload to the original endpoint.
